About Winnet BSR

During the last decade we have increased our understanding in the Baltic Sea Region (BSR) that in order to achieve sustainable growth we need to secure gender aware business support. Winnet BSR aims to initiate and coordinate projects that promote gender aware business support in the BSR region. Winnet BSR is a partnership whose goal is to bring about change both in policies and practice. The partnership consists of Women Resource Centres (WRCs), researchers, associations for women entrepreneurs, business support actors and associations active in the BSR region. 

Even though gender equality and sustainable growth has been highlighted in the strategy and Action Plan for the EU Strategy for BSR (2013), the perspective is not yet integrated into the priority areas small medium enterprise (SME) and tourism. Gender awareness is crucial to secure that actions aimed at development of innovation, SMEs, tourism, labor market and education benefit both women and men as entrepreneurs in the region.
